Step 7: Lead Research & Targeting
Outreach is a numbers game, but high conversion comes from personalization. Instead of spamming thousands of addresses, you will research specific target clients and identify their technical friction points. In this step, you build your first prospect list.
🎯 Step Objectives
Section titled “🎯 Step Objectives”- Research and select 5 prospective business leads within your target niche.
- Identify at least one specific technical improvement or gap for each business.
- Find their contact information (email, LinkedIn profile, or Instagram handle).
🏃♂️ Action Guide
Section titled “🏃♂️ Action Guide”1. Find 5 Target Leads
Section titled “1. Find 5 Target Leads”Search locally or globally for businesses matching your defined Niche (from Step 2). E.g. search Google Maps for “physiotherapy clinics near me” or browse Instagram for specialty rosters. Pick 5 businesses that could benefit from technical upgrades.
2. Identify Technical Gaps & Friction Points
Section titled “2. Identify Technical Gaps & Friction Points”Visit the website of each lead and analyze their current setup. Look for these specific gaps:
- Performance Bottlenecks: Is the site slow to load on mobile? (Slow Largest Contentful Paint).
- User Friction: Do they ask customers to send manual emails to book, rather than using an interactive form?
- Design & Authority: Is their layout outdated, making the business look inactive?
- Missing Features: Do they lack booking confirmations, basic contact maps, or social links?
3. Build Your Outreach Spreadsheet
Section titled “3. Build Your Outreach Spreadsheet”Create a simple table or spreadsheet:
- Company Name: Acme Vet Clinic
- Website:
acmevet.com - Contact Info:
contact@acmevet.com(or the owner’s LinkedIn profile) - Observed Gap: The booking button points to a static mailto link, forcing clients to write manual emails.
- Proposed Fix: Add a custom inline React booking form with automated email confirmations.
